Design by passion
artisans by heart
Serge Tardif and Nathalie Morin teamed their passion for design in 1990.
Six years later, granted the title of "Montreal designer of the year".
From home and furniture design they downsized the scale of their projects to become
designer-makers of functional art. Through object design and handcrafting, they find
a path to walk in step with their convictions that responsible design and local economy
is an alternate model for a more sustainable way of life while contributing to cultural
diversity. From then on, they have focused on curving and twisting wood fiber, solely
North American species. Somehow, they hope, contributing to change its perception
from a common material to a precious resource. Their aesthetic is, unconsciously
inspired by the peacefulness they find within seascape, an attempt to bring some
quietness in the maelstrom of our lives.
