Wayne Hilton was born in Vancouver B.C. and lived most of his life in the lower mainland. He has always had a passion for working with wood and developed skills at an early age, building houses, furniture and also dabbling in stained glass. He’s always tried to be innovative and diverse in creation and able to think out of the box.
Wood is such a rewarding medium to work through with it’s sometimes unpredictable grains and subtle colour schemes. Exposing this allows the beauty within to come alive.
Wayne moved to Sechelt in 2016 and is often seen combing the Sunshine Coast beaches and with his creative eye selecting driftwood pieces that resemble creatures of the sea. He brings them home to refine the character within.
He has always had a love for nature and combined with his artistic abilities express’s this with his carvings, each piece is unique with its own personality.
